Andrew Alhadeff (Al-HAD-if) is entering his sixth season as the Head Coach of the Cypress College Men’s Basketball Program. In his first five seasons as Head Coach of the Chargers, Alhadeff led the men's basketball program to back-to-back CCCAA postseason appearances ('16 & '17) after a 20 year draught and 12 Chargers have moved on to play at 4-year universities.
Prior to Cypress, Alhadeff spent eight seasons as the Associate Head Coach at Irvine Valley College. In his time at Irvine Valley College, the Lasers compiled a record of 169-73 (0.698), which included back-to-back trips to the State “Elite 8” in 2009-10 and 2010-11. As Associate Head Coach at IVC, Alhadeff was in charge of defense, post players and scouting, as well as assisted in recruiting and game planning.
Alhadeff played for the University of Redlands where he was a four-year starter and captained the most prolific scoring team in basketball history, which averaged 132.4 points per game in 2004-05. As point guard, Alhadeff finished fourth all-time in assists and led the SCIAC in assists in 2004 and assists/turnover ratio in 2004 and 2005. Alhadeff holds the only recorded triple-double (14 points, 11 rebounds, 10 assists) in Redlands school history, which came in its 154-153 win over Chapman University.
Alhadeff earned his Bachelors of Art Degree in Sociology from the University of Redlands (2005) and his Masters of Science in Physical Education from Azusa Pacific University (2009). He enjoys spending time with his son, Jason (age 5).
