Kevin Monahan is entering his third year as an assistant coach working primarily with the outfielders and helps with hitting. Kevin won his first OEC Championship as an assistant coach in 2015 and had his first appearance at the state tournament.
Monahan coached baseball at Kennedy High School for one season, coached the Cypress Stars travel baseball team for four years and coached Team San Diego softball for one year before joining the Cypress coaching staff.
While playing varsity baseball for three years at Kennedy High School, he was named All-League for two years and named a South County All-Star. He then played two years at Long Beach City College earning All-Conference one of those seasons. Kevin received his Bachelors of Arts Degree in Organizational Leadership from Arizona State University.
Kevin credits his coaching and success to those in his life who have taught him so much about the game and life, his father Tom Monahan, mentor Brad Pickler and past coaches Chris Pascal and Tony Wilhite.
