Cypress- The Cypress Chargers baseball team (3-0) knocked off Ventura College (0-3) for the second straight game, this time defeating the Pirates 11-4 on Saturday afternoon. The Chargers victory was keyed by Tyler Gnesda's grand slam and seven RBI.
Anthony Parente started off at the mound for the Chargers and was able to hold Ventura scoreless in the first inning despite the bases being loaded. Cypress then loaded the bases in the bottom of the first inning and then Gnesda drove one deep to left center for a grand slam. He then hit his second homerun of the game in the bottom of the fourth to bring in three more runs for the Chargers. On the day, Gnesda went three for three with two homeruns and seven RBIs.
