Cypress College Athletics Celebrates Hall of Fame Class of 2019

CYPRESS, CA – The Cypress College Athletics family celebrated the Hall of Fame Class of 2019 at the Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony in the Gym II Foyer on Saturday morning. This year's class included 11 former Chargers, bringing the Hall of Fame total to 77 total student athletes, coaches, supporters, and administrators who have received the honor in the college's 52-year history.

The Athletics Department invited its Hall of Fame members, new and old, to attend the event, which included a breakfast, Mimosas and Mary's, and Hall of Fame induction ceremony. With over 100 guests in attendance, the Chargers formally honored the 2019 Hall of Fame Class with commemorative medals and certificates of recognition from the State Assembly.

Dean of Kinesiology and Athletics, Dr. Richard Rams, will lead the effort to ensure that the Cypress College Athletics Hall of Fame continues to be a fixture on campus as the department plans to celebrate a new induction class every odd year consisting of a formal program and grand celebration of past and present inductees.

"Our Athletics Hall of Fame event and our inductees continue to serve as powerful evidence to the positive impact that Cypress College has on individuals and families," said Dr. Richard Rams. "Listening to our inductees highlight the role that our coaches, Athletics staff, and faculty played in their personal growth and development certainly validated the excellence that makes Cypress College so special."



The next call for nominations will take place in October of 2020 for induction in spring 2021, please see the newly revised Hall of Fame Induction Guidelines for additional information.
